Cancer Fighting Foods

Nearly one- in-three cancer deaths are diet related according to the National Cancer Society.

That is incredibly wonderful news.

Why?

Because it means that we actually have some control of whether or not we develop cancer. This is what we have believed since doing our own research, but it is great to have the National Cancer Society supporting this.  Imagine, decreasing your odds of developing cancer just by putting the right foods in your body.

The choice we make today will affect us tomorrow; Make sure you make the right choice.

Research has found that certain foods actually cause cancer to grow and develop while other foods, we will call them cancer fighting foods, lower your risk of developing cancer.

Some cancer fighting foods include: raw vegetables and fruits, foods high in fiber, low in fat and antioxidants, foods derived from plants rather than meat based foods.

Other factors that may increase our risk of developing cancer include: lack of exercise, a high sugar diet, alcohol abuse, stress, high toxins, smoking and obesity, just to name a few.

It is also important to note that although fruits are a much better choice than a Snickers bar, they are high in sugar content. Sugar is one of the foods known to feed cancer and contribute to many illnesses, therefore, should be minimized as much as possible.

Changing the foods that we put into our bodies is one of the easiest and most powerful ways we have to decrease our risk of developing cancer.  And as always, before making any dietary or lifestyle changes it is important to consult with a qualified health care provider first.
